COLLEGE DEFEAT’S NELSON The curtain raiser to the Shield match was played between the Nelson and College junior teams. The play was bright with many combined passing movements. Nelson were the first to get points, Hume, the half dashing round the scrum, sending {fife hall to G. Scoltock who side stepped two College players and went over for a try in tho corner. College evened the score with a penalty goal kicked by R,. Newman. Towards the end College gained a com foilable margin with a converted try.
