WATER PRESSURE IN MOUNT STREET

THE RECENT FIRE The water pressure in Mount street was discussed by the City Council last night. The recent fire in the locality was mentioned and Councillor MeConchie said he understood that the water pressure on that occasion was very poor. There should have been an abundance of water. Councillor Movnagh said he had an uneasy feeling that all was not right with the Fire Brigade. He did not think the present plant was adequate and unless something was done ho would move in the direction of setting up a Fire Board. The City Engineer stated that the pressure in Mount street was tested at 3 Vcloek in the afternoon following tlio recent fire and was found to be Gslbs. Councillor Watson moved that with a view lo testing the water pressure in Mount street the Five Brigade he asked to test each fire plug and report ta the Council. The motion was seconded and carried.
