' DEPUTATION IN SUPPORT (By Telegraph) (From “The Mail’s” Parliamentary Reporter) WELLINGTON, 25th July. A largely-signed petition was presented in the House of Representatives yesterday on behalf of members and supporters of the Waipukurau Jockey Club expressing the opinion that the enactment of legislation legalising the publication of dividends paid by the various racing clubs in New Zealand and the making of sufficient postal regulations to enable investments on the totalisator to be sent by telegram to the various racing clubs will be of greatassistance to the racing clubs and to sucli members of the general public who desire to indulge in the sport of horse racing. They submit that it is desirable that the legislation and regulations referred to should be brought into force as soon as possible, and therefore ask that legislation be enacted this session.
