Porter kicked off, the New Zcalanders winning four scrums in succession, and unfolding back movements each tune which took the play into the home hall. Ward broke through supported by Frizzed and rushed play into the visitors' twenty-five, then play became more even. Lilbiirne got through smartly, running cleverly lo the home twenty-live, but a forward pass held up ihe movement. Shortly after the hall went right along the New Zealand three-quarter line and a score seemed certain, but MeGhie took a loose p;iss, making another characteristic burst to half way. His pass was missed anil .New Zealand again pressed. Twenty four minutes after the start Geddes scored for New Zealand, finishing a three-quarter movement from a ruck in the home Iwenlv-five. The kick |al, goal failed. New Zealand 3, Queensland 0 .Met line's cleverness proved the bright spot in Queensland's play. The New Zealanders now took charge of the game and from a ruck near the line Reid touched down, but again the kick failed. New Zealand 6, Queensland 0 New Zealand broke through a minute after resumption after half time, Greiiside scoring, but again (he kick failed. New Zealand 9, Queensland 0 Porter was playing a heady game. starting several movements. The crowd, which had increased by about 2000 since tho match began, saw Queensland on Ihe defensive when a beautiful passing movement started by Queensland in their own twenty-live was spoiled by a knock on.
