PUBLICITY 'CAMPAIGN* (United Preea Association.—By Eleotri* Talegraph—CopyrishtJ ' (Received 25ih July, 1.30 p.m.) Si'DJSlilr:,: This Day. A well attended'meeting of the general council of the Graziers' Association of New .South Wales fully discussed the proposed wool publicity campaign. .Mr Bernard Tripp of New Zealand was present as a visitor. Mr F. H. Tout outlined the proposals, which were unanimously approved. The meeting decided that ail possible steps be taken to bring the proposals into operation at the earliest possible moment. The president was of opinion that a levy rate of half a crown per £IOO on nctt receipts for wool would probably be suflicient, but the meeting agreed that it was advisable to authorise the committee in charge of propaganda to levy up to five shillings on the understanding that only so much a.s necessary would actually be called up each year. A suggestion was made that if scientific research into.- the ..further uses of wool were found necessary the cost thereof be borne by the fund, control of which should lie vested in representatives of the pastoral "industry. The meeting was of opinion that a compulsory levy on w.oolgrowers was essential for the success of the scheme, and legislative sanction for such should be sought. ■ • - "• The indications were that other States increasingly favoured, the scheme, and the fullest co-operation of New Zealand sheep owners .was anticipated. General approval had already been given by the Graziers' Federal Council of Australia, and the committee considering the practicability of inaugurating the campaign is expected to report shortly to tho Federal Councils
