South Head signal master shows that during the ,ye;"ended 30th June 7073 vessels, with an aggregate tonnage of 8,9-12,226, entered Port Jackson. Compared with the figures for the previous year there were 824 fewer vessels and a smaller tonnage of 291,063. The decrease was apparently due to the timber strike and the depressed state of the coal industry.
