.u&tfam* MISSING CAR IN AUCKLAND (By Telegraph—Special to "The Mail") AUCKLAND, 24th July. Mr.J. S. Freer, secretary of the Eden Chamber of Commerce, had left his car parked in the city at 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon near the corner of Queen and Victoria streets, and ja. few minutes later he returned to find it gone. Less than four-and-a-half hours ' later Freer, when bound for the city in a friend's car, sighted his own and they gave chase. After an exciting pursuit it was overtaken, but the driver escaped, leaving behind another young man and two girls who were handed over to the police. Freer declares that the speedometer showed the ear had travelled 100 miles ■ c ince three o'clock.
