DISCOVERY OF DRUG
CONSIGNED TO EMBASSY \ __. AFGHAN MINISTER CONCERNED LONDON, 11th July. Consternation, reigns in the French Foreign Office, and also in the diplomatic corps, says the Paris correspondent of the "Daily Mail," following the discovery that four wooden cases from Germany claimed by Sirdar Nabi Khan, a close friend of ex-King Amanulla—ho was formerly the Afghan Minister, at Paris and is now Minister at Moscow—contained £6OOO worth of: heroin and cocaine. . The cases were labelled "Second-hand clothing," and were claimed as part of the "diplomatic valise." One fell off a lorry while they were being taken to the Embassy, revealing'"a white powder which was analysed as heroin.
