TAWA FLAT TUNNEL

EXCELLENT PROGRESS (By Telegraph-Preu Auooifttion) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Public Works report in connection with the Tawa Flat railway deviation is that the bottom head of No. 1 tunnel has been completed right through its length of 63 chains. Line and level when the headings met were absolutely correct. It is hoped that this tunnel will be completed within twelve months and that by that time the heading work in No. 2 tunnel of 2 miles 53 chains will be completed. It is considered excellent progress is being made witli the work.
