For several minutes the play drifted up ami down the field with' honours about equally divided. The Black forwards then increased their activities and gave Greens a strenuous time until Limn picked up and made a spectacular display by side-stepping-bis opponents and dashing tor the line. A sure try was averted by MacDonald grassing Lunri at the last moment, lluias retained their hold on Wanderers’ territory, an attempt, by Lowe, Bisley and Lowe resulting in Blacks forcing. Boon after Wanderers were penalised and G. Talbot was successful with the kick. Huias 12-6. Lowe secured from a penalty kick aim sent Greens for the line, Luim catching the full hack in possession. A clearance was made and play cased to .neutral ground. W. Talbot returned with the ball at toe but Fry gained possession and lonnd the line. For the remaining few minutes of the game Wanderers put up a stubborn defence and were able to keep the opposition at bay, although on one occasion Everett appeared to score, but a five yards serum was given.
