A BURGLAR ARRESTED tßr T»l<w»pb— Pr«* Aenoolatlon) AUCKLAND. This Day. Carrying a complete kit of burglar’s tools, including gelignite, fuses, and caps, Robert Slade, aged 65, of Ilepbum street, was arrested in sensational circumstances following an exciting chase through, the city streets in the early hours of yesterday morning. On being searched £67 was found in his possession. A large quantity of clothing was discovered later in his room, much of which was identified as having been stolen. Thq arrest was made by Constable S. Whitehead, and is regarded as one of the most outstanding arrests in Auckland for a long time. The search at the police station revealed a complete outfit of burglar’s tools, including a jemmy, catapult, and numerous lead pellets.
