WILKINS’ “GOOD DEED”

TO BE REPAID BY ARTIST LONDON, 12th July. Sir Hubert Wilkins, when official photographer with tho A.1.F., took a striking picture of James Quinn, the Australian artist, who was then one of tlie official war artists, am! was painting n iront-line scene, amid the Australian and German dead, during a big push at Mont St. Quentin in 1918. This picture was placed in the Australian War Museum. Mr Quinn, is now reciprocating by painting, a portrait of Sir Hubert, in explorer s costume, for exhibition at the Paris Salon of the Royal Academy. Sir William Orpen and Augustus John are sketching Sir Hubert prior to his early departure for Norway and America.
