The death lias taken place at the .District Hospital, Westport, of Mrs Barraclough, wife of Dr. Barraclough, of Karamea. Deceased was urgently brought to Westport last week by the s.s. Nile in a precarious state of health, ’the deceased, who was about 32 years of age, was a native of Tauranga, whither her body lias been taken for interment. ' *
Mrs Ilulmo, who is producing “Going Up for the Nelson Amateur Operatic Society, and who has had a slight attack of influenza- lias now recovered and is able to carry out her work as usual. ‘ i Mrs Frances Wilkinson i Robertson, widow of the late Mr John/Robertson of Burntisland, Fifeshire, Scotland, whoso death occurred this week, was born in \ orkshire, England, in 1836. She was married in Melrose, Scotland, to the late John Robertson in 1863 and went to reside in Burntisland where she was bereaved of her husband in 1870, and was left- with three young children, one girl, and two boys. The younger son, Peter, after learning his trade as a sigmvriter and printer, entered the Merchant- Service in 1889 and passed his examinations for. captain. In 1904, however, he succumbed -to an attack o>f yellow fever in Callao, South America. The elder son, Allan, served as a private soldier in Ireland, England, and India, and returned to the Old Country in 1896, and two years later accompanied his mother to New Zealand, arriving in Nelson in March 1893. Some years later her daughter, Mrs J. Newton, together with her husband came out from the Old Country to Nelson. The late Mrs Robertson on arriving in Nelson linked up w’th too Nelson Baotist Church, the late Rev. R, S. Gray being the /Minister, and remained a staunch supporter up to the time of her death.

Mr H. McD. Vincent, at present- news editor of the Christchurch “Sun,” has been appointed assistant editor, and Milan Donnelly, who has been with the Auckland “Sun" since its establishment*, is joining the editorial staff in Christchurch. Those changes are necessitated bv Mr .T. H. Schroder, assistant editor of the Christchurch “Sun,” joining the Christchurch “Press” editorial staff as assistant editor.
