FLOOD DAMAGE
IN MOTUEKA DISTRICT ASSESSMENT TO BE MADE (By Telegraph) (From "The Mail's" Parliamentary Keporter). WELLINGTON, 18th July. Air G. C. Black (Motueka) asked the Minister of Lands (the Hon. G. W. Forbes) an urgent question in the House of Representatives this afternoon regarding the recent Motueka Hood, re questing'"that the Minister make immediate arrangements for officers of the Valuation Department and the Department of Agriculture to visit, and make a report on Hood damage in the Moutere, Motueka and Kiwaka districts so that such report may be considered along with that being prepared by the Assistant Engineer-in-Chief of the Public Works Department, who is in the districts at the moment. Mr Forbes replied that he would he pleased to arrange for suitable officers to make a report on the damage caused by the flood.
