TRAINING SHIP MYSTERY

The chief officer of the Mexico, previously skipper of the Kobenhavn, considers that when the Kobenhavn drifted and passed Tristan an explosion had occurred in the 'engine room, situated abaft, blowing out the sternpost. Islanders watched the vessel drifting for three hours and it is inexplicable why they had failed to put out. He presumed it was the first time tlVey .saw a sailer. It is believed the Kobenhavn, sank near Tristan, where the sea was very deep, and that the cadets were taken off.
