NARROW ESCAPE FROM DROWNING
(By T*l*CTfcp&—Pr»M iMetatlto) CHRISTCHURCH. 17th July. Ernest Bristow, a married man, had a- narrow escape from drowning when crossing a ford on the main drain two miles from Kaiapoi. His horse stumbled and the dray struck the piles of a railway bridge and overturned. Bristow dung on to the pile® and was assisted from water in an exhausted condition. The horse was drowned.
