WEIR BANK SUBSIDES
GOULBOURN VALLEY THREATENED (United Press Association—By Eleotrio Telegraph—Copyright) (Received 17th July, 9.55 a.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day. Desperate efforts are being made to fill in a great subsidence in the bank of the Sugar Loaf weir. Should floods cause a break an immense body of water will plunge dawn Goulboum valley, endangering people's lives. Three hundred men are at present employed repairing the damage, the cost of which will be at least £250.000.
