WORN-OUT PIANOS
It would be interesting to know how many worn-out pianos remain in homes which might easily replace them with new instruments. These old pianos are of no value to music, or to the musical Uiste of those who hear them, for they give a distorted version of what ought to be beautiful sounds. Children learning the piano are specially entitled to instruments which faithfully produce music and not sounds that are' "jangled, out of tune and harsh"—for it is of'the greatest importance that their young perceptions of tone should be trained in the right way. New pianos for the worn-out old should be the motto of all music-loving families. >
