A. & P. ASSOCIATION
MONTHLY MEETING Tlie monthly meeting of the Agricultural and Pastoral Association was held in the Fire Brigade hall, Richmond, on Saturday evening. There were present: Messrs A. Thomson (president), E. SmaHbono. A. Max R. H. Hammond, F. Pago, E: Harkness, G. W. Best, D. Max, R. Sutton, F. G. Gibbs, H. .Croucher, J. Biggar and J. G. Ingram. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs J. Hunt, 11. F. Palmer and T. H. Chisnall.' . Messrs E. D. Barry and A. Hammond were elected as members. The secretary of the Egmont A. and P. Association advised that its show would be held at llawera on the 13th and 14th November: A letter was received from the Waimea County Council agreeing to transfer of property at Richmond known as Stoke Road Board office from Mr E. Smallbbne to the* A. and P. Association. v_. ._ The report from the schedule committee of the draught horse section was approved. \The light horse section is to remain the same as last year. The reports of the following committees were adopted:—Cattle, pigs (with a slight alteration), sheep; (same as last year), domestic produce.(a slight alteration from last year)/farm produce (same as last year except the prize for collection' of vegetable's, whicb has been increased "to 20g for Ist and 10s for 2nd), does (same as last year). The poultry section has been altered more on the lines'of the Poultry Association's shows, as it was thought by this alteration to effect improvement., The competitions committee asked for another hionth before presenting its report. ' \ ■■ .' Mr Page gave notice to rescind a motion re Canterbury Farmers' Cup for most points in farm produce. The meeting passed a vote of. sympathy with Mr May. in the death of his wife f members standing.;
'lt was decided that next meeting commence at 7 o'clock in order that the business might ; be finished by 8 o'clock, as Mr Rigg will address members on the hay experiments carried out by the Cawthron Institute... \
