PLANE WING GROWS
BIGGER, BUT LIGHTER LONDON, 26th June. A revolutionary method of constructing giant aeroplane wings is reported to have been evolved as .the result of experience in building a 2,100 horsepower Beardmore Rolls-Royce all-metal monoplane. It has thb World's largest wing, constructed on the' cantilever principle, enabling the employment of a simple spar, saving one-fifth of the machine's weight, or* 50cwt, enabling the conveyance of" twenty extra- passengers.
