BUSINESS TO-DAY . Mr T. E. Maunsell, S.M., presided at the Magistrate's Court to-day. Judgment for plaintiff by. default wasi given in the following civil cases:—; John Hart Webley v. John Lowthor D'A'rcy Irvine, £l3 and costs; Arthur Norris Snowden v. John Lowther D'Arcy Irvine, £l4 2s 9d and costs; Rena. Margareta Thomas v. Frederick H. Thomas £55 10s and costs; James Baird v. Giovanni Caldart and o'.'t.fis.. £llO 18s 8d and costs; S. Wadsworth v. W. Johnson, lis 4d and costs; Ernest Eggers v. Kenneth Bryn Goodall £8 12s and costs; Ralph Ashley Thomas v. Norman Campbell Austin £2 4s and costs; Wilkins and Field Co., Ltd., v. Giovanni Caldart and others, £2B 8s 2d and costs; E. Buxton and Co., Ltd., v. Giovanni Caldart and others £29 19s 6d and costs; J. R. Kerr v. W- P.; Baker £5 5s and costs. The Nelson City Council proceeded against Theo Wood for not licensing a dog which was over 6 months of age. After evidence had been hoard tne case was dismissed. POLICE COURT On account of his chimney catching fire, William George Frost was convicted and Ordered to pay costs 10s. The following were fined 5s and costs 10s for driving motor vehicles without a license: E. R. Neale, Arthur Charles Delacy, Robert Hamilton Pitcaithly, Clifford George Scarlett, Claude Abram, Oliver Owen Rothwell, John Ivory. Leslie Roy McConchie appeared charged with driving a car along the cycle track between the Auckland Point School and Anzac Park. After some of the evidence was heard a doubt arose concerning a by-law which would cover the case and the case was withdrawn.
