MORE DAMAGE
WEEK-END FLOOD ROADS AND BRIDGES AFFECTED SLIP AT TAHUNA SEVERAL HOUSES EVACUATED . More damage was done throughout the district by the torrential rain . which fell during the week-end, es- ■ specially on Saturday afternoon. Slips have occurred in many parts of the ' city and now scar's on the hillsides round about show where the. surface has-carried away. The most serious • ' damage is at Tahuna where a slice of sthe hillside near the Rocks road has x . moved some feet from the parent body. Two houses were wrenched from their foundations 1 and the occupants .of those places and several others deemed * unsafe have had to get out with their furniture. After the very heavy down- . pour oh Saturday several sewers in the -■ .citv/wore J unable to deal with the sud- ' den volume of water and many streets were under water.
