' Following is the provisional itinerary arranged' for the visit of Their Excellencies the Governor-General and Lady •Alice Fergussbn to the area which hasbeeu affected by the earthcmake. Leaving Wellington to-morrow evening Their Excellencies will arrive at Greymouth the following afternoon. The next morning (Thursday, 18th Judy) they will leave Greymouth by motor, arriving at Westport that afternoon. •Friday and Saturday will be spent in the Westport and Seddonville areas, and on Sunday afternoon Reefton will b e reached. On Monday, 22nd July, Their Excellencies will leave Reefton For Murchison provided the roads are not impassable, and hope to reach there early that afternoon. They will stay at Murchison for the night, and will leave the following day for Nelson, catching the steamer the same evening for Wellington, where they are due to arrive on the morning of" Wednesday! 24th July. ' | Mr Give Duncan Philip Topliss, who was a member of head office of the NaI tional Bank, died at his residence, Wel--1 lingtotf terrace, on Friday last, aged 37 years. Mr Topliss, who was born in Nelson arid educated at Nelson College, i was the youngest son of the late Philip and Mrs Topliss, of-Nelson. In 1915 be i joined the New Zealand Expeditionary I Force as an officer of the 3rd Battalion of the N.Z. Rifle Brigade. After being ! wounded in the Battle of the Somme, he was invalided out to New Zealand, i and laler resumed his duties in the j Auckland branch of the National Bank, later being appointed manager of the Paeroa branch, where he remained {or* ! five years. The deceased, who leaves a ; widow, the daughter of Mr and Mrs E. ; A. Israel, nf Wellington, had been in I failing health for the last' few years, j but was able to carry out his duties I until a month ago. j Messrs W. T. Crabb and. D. joblin, of the local Railway s.'aff, have been transferred to Upper Hutt and Christehiirch respectively and left for their respective clesttnatiaj'iis by the ferry' I steamer on Friday night. Prior to the'ir departure they were inc-t bv their fellow/ workers and on behalf of'the s.aff Mr Cullen, Stationmasfer in Charge, presented to Mr Crabb a travelling rug and to Mr Joblin a set of hair brushes. Miss Madge Wilson, of Christchurch, who is playing the part of Grace Douglas in "Going Up" to be produced at' the end of the month by the Kelson Amateur Operatic Society, arrives bv boat to-morrow morning! and will he the guest of Mrs Frank Hamilton, Collingwood street. Nclsonians will have pleasant recollections of Miss Wi'i son's previous appearance in Nelson I when she played the part of "Sophie" in "The Country Girl." Miss Wilson is one of New Zealand's best amateur performers and her playing of Grace Douglas in "Going Up" at Christchurch recently won unstinted praise from ,i'oMi press and public for her artistic and finished performance.
