England is the largest purchaser of Dutch bulbs, the export of which is one of the 12 most important items in Dutch trade. According to figures just published, the export in 1928 was 94,798,75911) of bulbs, valued at £3,547, 500. Of this £1,320,000 came'from England and the Dominions; £907,500 from the United States;- £600,000 from Germany; anjl £495,000 from Sweden. The. total area under cultivation last year was about 12,000 acres, and was valued at roughly £8,827,500.
