MEF/ITNG OF COUNCIL By Tslagraph—Praw Association) WELLINGTON, This Day. The War Funds Council met at Parliament House yesterday. A resolution of appreciation of Mr Downie Stewart’s services as Minister of War Funds was carried unanimously. It was decided that a further sum of £ISOOO be authorised to further assist unemployed soldiers during the forthcoming year. A resolution was passed recommending the Government to accord further assistance to South African - veterans. Pleasure was expressed that at this date a bequest made for the benefit of ex-soldiers showed- that their services were still remembered. ’ > Th accumulated fund of the trust stands at £162,183 19s 7d, in addition’ to which there are trust funds of £6991 15s 9d.
