ANNUAL MEETING
IST BATTALION N. M. and W.C. REGIMENT BAND The annual meeting of tho Ist Battalion N.M. and W.C. Rogiment Baud was held in the Band Room. Mr Chas. Leaper, the president (a- life- member) 'was .in 11)6 .chair, aucl ,thcr.e was. a rccard attendance .of njembers, Several apologies for unavoidable' absence were received. The report and ..balance sheet was reatj and adopted. .It-showed the Band la have had a successful year, coming ouL with a fair credit balauco and being free of debt. The chairman congratulated the Band on the successful year they had had. ELECTION OP OFFICERS The following officers were elected: President, Mr Chas. Leaper (re-elected); secretary, Bandsman H. Wilkins (reelected) ; treasurer, Sergeant W. Lock (re-elected); custodian, Bandsman V. Bensemann (re-elected); committee of five (elected after a ballot): Drum-Major A. Bfennett, Corporal W. Reed, Bandsmen S. Haase, C. Lipscombe and V. Bensemann, all re-elected. After f a ballot Lieut. T. 11. Hughes .was elected conductor. Drum-Major A. J.' Bennett was re-elected, ‘ • GENERAL Tho following new members were elected: Messrs W. Alaxted, G- Pascoe, Hewlett, Elley, Rowe, Robinson, Guthrie, Hill, Morhouse, V. Coombes. A hearty, vote of thanks ,was passed to all supporters for assistance, given during tho year, to tho officers for their past year’s services; and to the press. •Mr Cole thanked members for the support accorded him as conductor and appealed to members to give tho incoming conductor their support. Drum-Major Bennett and Bandsman Cotton proposed . a hearty vote of thanks to Mr Cole for his five years’ services.-, ' ‘ The motion was carried.
