TOWN BOARD
At the meeting of the Takaka Town Board an apology for unavoidable ab» sence wn? received from the chairman (Mr A. Whelhnm). Mr L. Fauchelle was voted to the chair. Other members present were: Dr. Woodward and Messrs J. A. Gillanders and H. Pago. . A letter was received from the Lyttelton Borough Council extending sympathy in connection with recent earthquake disaster. ' Mr W. .T. Small waited on the Board and stated that, he was unable to continue the simply of bench metal and suggesting the supply of river metal from Byrne’s.—Tt was resolved to procure the metal as suggested. It was decided to lew a general rate in the capital value of one penny in the £ and a rebate he made for promnt navment of rates in th© terms of the Act.
The dayman was instructed to cement the water table above the crossing to Small’s Garage: and the ranger instructed to impound al] stray stock found and in the event of continued offence information to he laid against the offender.
