NELSON GIRL GUIDE'S ACHIEVEMENT UUIDERS’ BLUE RIBBON AWARDED THE FIRST IN NELSON Great interest at the annual presentation of badges to members of the All Saints’ Girl Guides centred in the presentation to Girl Guide Hazel Cotton of the Guiders’ Blue Cord as the outcome of her having won no less than thirteen badges. As will he seen from the report- of Mrs Tillyard’s remarks in ano..ier column, the tests are by no means easv and to gain any one of the badges, a girl has to be really efficient. Guide Hazel Cotton’s record can be appreciated when it is realised that she has won badges for the following: (1) Horsemanship ; (2) land worker; (3) dairy snam 5 (4) knitter'; (5) laundress; (6; cook, (7) needle women; (8) home maker; (9) authoress; (10) swimmer; (11) tin if t, (12) ambulance; (13) child liur ® e - , Miss Cotton was also awarded the Gold Star for five years’ service, and the first class badge. • The recipient was accorded enthusiastic rounds of applause for her great record.
