.Thomas John .Lewis, 45, an habitual criminal, escaped from the Auckland mental hospital for the third time on Sunday./ rip cut his beard short and dved it black, but was recaptured by Detective Meiklcjohii, who had captured him on a previous occasion. Lewis stated that lie has also escaped from prison twice.
