LONDON. May 1, A new instrument in connection with efforts to eradicate, brown heart ,>n apples while in ships’ storage chambers. was made bv research scientists at- Cambridge University and dispatched to Australia, for trial on fruit boats coming home. Mr Pearce, fruit expert of the Oversea Fanners’ Co-op. Association. explains that the instrument records the atmosphere in the storage chamber by a chemical process, and greatly simplified the delicate process o 1 ventilation. i ‘
