HICKSON MISSION DISCUSSED
Mnited Press Association.!
AUCKLAND, This Day
The results of the Hickson mission were discussed by the C.E.M.S. Dominion Conference. Rev. Coates (Auckland) said that the actual physical healings had been few. The mission had abundantly justified the church in carrying on the work. Rev. Fancourt JPalmerston) expressed similar views. Rev. Meredith (Wanganui) said that where the Hickson missions had been failures misconception and disappointment outweighed the benefit received. It had also to be considered whether there was not some purpose in suffering. He hoped the church would continue its private ministry to the sick and be very cautious in the way it expressed its hopes to the public. Other clergymen gave examples of what they considered benefits received by patients attending the mission., , r It was resolved that the next conference be held early in May 1926.
