The positions of the leaders in the Hide Club Champion Teams Match are : —Petone 1757, Christchurch 1752, Greyitowii 1736. Linton 1736, Ashburton 1730, Ooaki 1726 Kaiapoi 1728, Karori (No. 1 1727, Featherston 1727, Wellington Suburbs 1721.

Ha in winch caused a. cessation of the shooting yesterday, continued till late at night and then cleared, followed by more than suspicion of frost. An early start was made with the shooting, the .Taranaki Match of ten shots at 800 yards being aken firs. The second leg of the Otago (900 yards) was held in abeyance while th # e executive debated a protest, from competitors against the decision to permit men who had fired at this range in the rain yesterday, to exercise the option of retaining the scores or start afresh: The decison was finally reversed, and the men must now keep what points they had on. Most of them will regret this. The conditions this morning were excellent, bright sun, clear sky and, wonder of wonders, no •wind, last night’s southerly having “gone west.” Apart from a. little matter of elevation shooting generally was dead in. Sutherland (Goodwood) and Hunt (Wellington Suburbs) got on possibles. and 49’s were secured by E. Jiarlev (Kimboltonh E. S. King (Wanganui), Donald (Opaki), West (Renwick), CL P. Harrison (Hawera), Heney (Christchurch), Oit (Greytown); 48’s were fairly numerous, and 47’s should be lucky to get into the prize list. The match is not yet finished. The rifle club men last night re-elect-ed the' following repTAk. “.dives to the executive of the Association: S. Elliott (Auckland), .Major G. S. Taylor (Wellington! Capt. W. N. Masefield (Canterbury), and F. J. Silvius (Otago). Anderson (Kaituna), with 48. retains the lead for the Belt with 419. Hunt is next at present with 412. In the Taranaki Match, ten shots at 500 yards, the leading prize takers in A Grade are:—£4 10s, W. Sutherland (Goodwood) 50; £4 10s, H. Hunt (Wellington Suburbs) 50; £4, 11. Donald fOpaki) 49; £3, T. Orr (Greytown) 49; £3. G. P. Harrison (Ilawera) 49. The following taifa £'2 each, E. Bailey (Kimbc It on) 49, W. M. Heney (Kaiapoi) 49, iW. 11. West (R'enwick) 49, K. McKenzie (Featherston) 48. J. Kyle (Linton) 48. Scores down to 45 got in, and 11 were counted out. B Grade was won by E. S. King (Wanganui) 49, runner-up, J. Atkins (Unutoke) 48. The tyro list was headed by D. Pring (Auckland Suburbs) 48, run-rev-up, F. Barton (Featherston) 45. On completion of the Taranaki Match and including half of the Otago Match, the leaders for the King’s Fifty are:—Anderson. 419, 1; Donald, 414, 2; Hunt, 412, 3; W. H. Ballinger, 409, 4; Carter, 409, 5; D. McKenzie, 408, 6; Masefield 407, 7; Keir, 406, 8; Frank, 406, 9; West,'4os, 10; E. Bailey, 404, 11; E. S. King, 403) 12; W. S. Mills, 403, 13; Pimm, 403, 14; C. The Hawke’s Bay Match, ten shot at 600 yards, was completed by lunch, arid was won by J. Paterson (Wanganui) with 45. The runner-up was J. W. Milroy (Waimea) 45, followed by T. On’ (Greytown) 44. A. Graham (Dunedin) 44, A. Swmonds (Wellington Suburbs) 44.
While this match was in progress a fresh breeze from the right sprung up 4 and brought a good many men to earth. Anderson only got 39, so his bold on the leadership is precarious.
