LADY SWIMMERS
Hawaiian files indicate that it is accepted in .Honolulu as definitely arranged that Miss Fanny D'urack, world's ithanipion Lady swimmer, will compete at the carnival Tuhere early next year. Arrangements are being made for what is called a "mermaids' meet," at which the best Hawaiian and American lady swimmers will compete. Further than that, it is mentioned that there are prospects ol the ladies undertaking a swimming tour of the United' States immediately after. So iar as can be learned locally, the report as to Miss Durack is somewhat premature. True, she is anxious to make the trip, but it- is not yet correct to say that she lias definitely decided, on it. There is the question of the guarantee of the status of the meetings to !be settled, and the further question oE who will accompany her as companion. Tlie illawaiian journals further say; that it lias been arranged that Miss Mina Wylie, world's ohampion breast-stroke lady champion, will also leave these shores with Miss Ihirack. But swimming authorities here know nothing so definite as to be able to discuss the proposed tour.
