Revolting details were disclosed in a case in the Magistrate's Court, wherein, named - Matthew Cornwell was charged with an offence under the War' Regulations. It appeared that Cornwell induced' the : wife of a soldier on active service previously of good repute, to lead an immoral life. He took all' her earnings. The Magistrate described Cornwell as a low down brute, and imposed a sentence of nine months* imprisonment. ..;'....'
