VAL TRIGGE MISSION
FAREWELL GATHERING,
A Bocial gathering was held in St. John's School Hall last night in order to give tHbse who had 'been benefited by the recent Mission an opportunity of meetingjthe tßev. Val. Trigge prior to his departure for Ghristchurch this morning, via the West Coast. The hall was crowded, and a very pleasant evening was spent. Before, calling on Mr Trigge, the Rev. W. Baumber expressed 'his thankfulness to God for the success that had attended the mission, and his gratitude to Mr Trigge for the good! work he had done. He also thanked the Rev. A. Ashcroft for his attendance at and his interest in the mission.
The Rev. Val. Trigge then gave a brief address, basing his remarks on the words, "Enter thou into the joj- of thy Lord." The words primarily referred to the heavenly state, but there was a joy of the Lord: into which they might enter here and now. He begged the new convents as well as the older members of the Church, to value the means of grace, to attends the week-night as well as the Sunday services, and to do all they could for their Lord and (Master. The meeting •was then thrown open for testimony, and several took advantage of the opportunity v to fell \of "the spiritual ■good received through; the mission. After refreshments had been handed round, the hymn, "God -be with you till me meet again" was sung, and a very enjoyable gathering was brought to a TheEev. Val. and Mrs Trigge left this morningf by the early> train, and a number of friends were at the station to say good-bye.
