ARBITRATION COURT
AUCKLAND, Sept. 26. The Arbitrations Court gave its award in .the WaiM miners' dispute to-day.- Mr Justice Hosting said the only substaintdal xuestion was the miiiimum: rat©-of walges for tihe various classes of workers. The .majority of the Court came tfco .the conclusion, having (regard to the- fact (that heavy fourdiens had been imposed! on the - ohdhinior industry aa a result of the war in. the shapie of increased taxation and; 'high prices of all' classes of materials ; used by employers, that they coiild raofc properly girant any general increase in wages. , ,They considered, however, that some assistance should be given to the lowest paid' workers, a/ndi this had beea • done. ' . . 'Mr M'Gullough dissented from - the decision of the majority of tile Court, •holding that all the workers should have beeau granted increased wages. .
