Sir Douglas Haig reports - —We entered Combles, overcoming the resistance. {Combles is situated! just off the eastern flank of the famous ridge on which the AlKea got a footing fey the capture of Pozieres. The importance of Combles was in the fact that it was art obstacle that had to "be passed on the way to higher things. Now attention will be turned to Peronrte, which, with Ba-j-aume, ia the main objective.)
