ANOTHER BIG PUSH

Sir iDouglas Haig reports that to-da\ we were everywhere successful. \\*e stormed positions on a six-mile front ibetween 'Cornib-les and to a depth, of more than a mile. We captured the strongly fortified villages of Morval and Lesboeufs, practically severing, communications with Combles. The enemy's losses were heavy. Morval stands oil the heights northward! of Combles. and with its subterranean quarries, trencihes and wire entanglements constituted- a formidable fortress. The possession of Morval and Lesboeufs is of considerable military importance. Many .prisoners and machine guns and other material were taken. Our losses in relation -to results have heretofore been comparatively small. Six enemy aeroplanes were destroyed on Sunday and three were brought down damaged. Three of ours are missing.
