The report stated that owing to the necessities of the war having fully occu-' pied the attention of Parliament, there had been no attempt to introduce labour legislation!, nor have there been any industrial disturbances of any -magnitude. There has been no decrease in the number ol disputes dealt with by the Con-, filiation 'Councils and 1 the Arbitration Court. Claims during the year have ex-, ceededi those of the 1914-15' period!, the lead given- by the Court regarding the. war bonus having been followed 'by many employers, the indications are -that during the continuance of the war they will ■be considerably • fewer dn number. The Advisory Board met the Defeoice. Department the • holding of Territorial camps, and after reviewing the whole position it was decided! that it was inadvisable to raise The (Department did everything possible to minimise inconvenience to employers, and mo complaints were received. Owing to the war ;no organising work was undertaken, but after the' War the need) for combination will be more than ever apparent. Botfi here and in Australia there is a small 'but extremely dangerous number of men who are apparently determined to seize every opportunity as it offers, -to promote aw-' tagoinism between employers' and' -vporkers." ■ ' "(
