ENEMY ADVANCE ARRESTED
MACKENSEN OUT-GENERALLED. (Australian and N.Z. C?ible Association. 1 LONDON, Sept. 26. Mr Bourchier, from Bucharest, says the weather impedes operations on both fronts. The Bulgarian advance in the Dobrudja has been arrested. The press are jubilant over an inexperienced general defeating the great Mackensen. The Transylvanian check is important. A satisfactory advance as maintained, in the mountains of Bukovina. The Roumanian Legations are expected to arrive from the enemy capitals via Sweden and Russia shortly. America is taking over Roumanian representation at- Berlin and Vienna, and Spain the representation at Sofia and Constantinople. A GERMAN COMMUNIQUE. LONDON, Sept. 25. A 'German communique says: "We maintained our position at Manajow against strong Russian attacks. Roumanian advances in Szurduk and Vulcan advances in Szurduk and Vulcan Passses failed. The fighting south of the Codadigus-Topraisar line is favourable to otir troops. Our airships bomarded the fortress at Bucharest." AN AUSTRIAN REPORT. LONDON, Sept. 26. A Vienna communique says: "A Russian attempt to break through northward of Perepelniki failed with heavy losses."
