EUCHRE PARTY. (From Our Own Correspondent.) On Thursday last the Wakefield Platoon Of the National Reserve held a progressive euchre tournament at the Oddfellows' HalL The function was a great success, over 100 players being at the tables. After a long "evening's play supper was banded round, a short dance followed. The proceeds of the entertainment went to augment the local fund for the equipment of men proceeding on active service. As a result the funds will benefit by quite a substantial sum. uDOMINdON DAT. Dominion Day was celebrated bv the children of Wakefield and Pigeon Valley Schools, assembled at their respective schools at 9 o'clock. The Rev. J. R. Dart, Chairman of the School Committee, addressed the scholars at Wakefield. After the'singing, of the National Anthem and the verse for our soldier men, the little ones were dismissed to enjoy the remainder of the day.
