SERBO-BULGAR CONFLICT NEAR MONASTIR
ENEMY PREPARING TO/QUIT MONASTIR. ••' Australian and N.Z. Cable Association SALONIKA, Sept. 23. ' A great battle has been proceeding for two. days between the Serbs,and - Bulgars on- the right bank of the Gerna at Brod, near Monastir. "Whole army, corps on Iboth sides are fighting stubbornly night and day. It .is reported that the Bulgars are removing part of tlieir army and "guns; from Monastir to Babouna Pass, where. Gwcman officers are superintending the constructing of powerful- defensive works. ALLIES ATTACKING THE FIRST LINE. LONDON, Sept, 23. Mr. W. Ward Price reports that there are three. main lines of strong defences jat Monastir. The Allies are attacking the first line.
