Cooke, V.G., 'by doing something specially on .behalf, of his.widow and family of three children, who reside at Brooklyn, Wellington, says the Post. ' Tho Mayor of Wellintrton {Mr J;- P. Luke) stated that he had been in communication with MrsVCooke, and also with the late Private Cooke's mother, and when Mrs liuke returned from her ountry tour she also would get into touch with them. In the meantime, .he had done everything possible to show that the city was. ready to do honour to the "widow and mother of a man who had done suvh gallant service for his country. The association, - no doubt, will take into early considers- . tion the question of further honouring, the deceased hero's memory.
