In the Assembly the financial statement shows the year's suriplus on ordinary revenue to foe £68,111, reducing the deficit to £68,987. The proposed new taxation includes a tax on amusements of a penny on every sixpence paid for admission; an increase of the tax on Tattersall's to 10 per cent on prizes, and a penny on each ticket; and a 4-Jj per cent tax on totalisator receipts. The new taxes are expected to realise £79,800.
