ROME, Sept. 20. The Austrian losses on the (battlefield stretching from San Grado to the sea between September 13th and 18th are estimated at 20,000. Great stores of ammunition and many cannon were captured during the artillery duel* and hand-to-hand fighting which characterises the battle for Trieste. AN AUSTRIAN COMMUNIQUE. . LONDOY Sept. 21.; A Vienna communique says': ' "The defenders of the Carso highlands encoiintered a four days' battle with 20 infantry brigades, a cavalry division, and 15 Bei-saglieri battalions. The enemy's attacks at Civaron and in the Sngana section were repulsed with heavy losses,"
