Private J. S. Fox, youngest son of the late Canon Fox, whose •death from disease wa.s reported recently, left New Zealand in January as a signaller in the Canterbury Infantry. He was born in; Poverty Bay and educated at a Wanganui preparatory school, Nelson Boys' School, and Nelson College. He was for a. .short "while in the' employ of the D'unedin Evening Star Company, leaving it to enter t.he 'Government Insurance Office, Wellington. When he enlisted he was in the office of the Christchureh Meat Company, Dunedin. The funeral of the late Mr W. Myt-ton, of Pokororo, took place and was very largely attended, the procession comprising some 40 carriages, several motor cars, and' a, number of horsemen, the school children also atiend'inp-. The burial ceremony was conducted' bv the Rev. iMr Vosper. Vicar of 'JMotueka. •' Private Lance Fowler (soil of Mr W. Fowler, of Port . Nelson), who is im the Feathers ton Military Hospit-al suffering from a,n attack of meningitis, and whose Condition .for some time gave rise to great anxiety, is now pronounced to §be out of danger.
