Vining is due the greatest credit for the arrangements for the coronation ceremony, and' for the dressing of the children' taking- part. For weeks past she has been busily engaged on the work, and she may well feel pleased with the result. Between. 30 and 40 stallholders were the guests of Mrs McGillivwray at lunch at the Trafalgar Hotel. A number of hov helpers also had their lunch at the hotel. The invitation was much appreciated. Though not at any of the stalls Mesdames Lock and Crawford (chairwoman and secretary respectively of the Daffodil Week Committee) were kept busy throughout the day. In the evening there was an auction sale of blooms from the marquee. Mr Gould was the auctioneer, and the flowers were .placed on Messrs Grant Bros.' motor lorrv. The Committee desire to thank Mr R. Grant for bringing out the lorry. The toy garden on .Saturday -was in charge of Misses Maudl Ma.g'ienity and Peart (2). Takaka and Rjiwaka are each holding: separate functions for the iChrist-ma' Fitfts funds, and the proceeds wDI go to swel'l the N>3!i=on fund'. A sale of flowers at the Presbyterian Bulb Show this week will add to the total amount raised by the Daffodil effort. A great many of the shops had vases of daffodils in the windows on Saturday. Messrs Begg and Co. decorated a window with daffodils.
