Sir Doug-las Haig reports : —We achieved: ffurUher successes south of the Ancie and extended our gains- on Saturday evenins on a front of ICOO yards in the vicinity of Cotrrcellette. We ~ obtained considerable success on Saturday evening in the neighbourhood or ThiepvaL capturing; the fortification known as -the "Danube'" trench on a front of a-tnile. The Germans here abandoned considerable quantities of rifles and equipment. We also captured a strongly defended work at Moquet Farm, whose possession has been hotly contested for weeks; There were a number of successful minor operations during the night on other parts of the front.
