DOMINION DAY. (To the Editor.) Sir, —As Monday next (25th inst.).. is Dominion Day, and a, public holiday, could not some function be held at Trafalgar Park by the late Daffodil Day; Committee? If Saturday's' function* (which was a great success) Jiad been held in the Park, and say Is admission charged, the funds would have benefit-, ted fully £l5O or £2OO more- than • .'. tjitf amount raised. .1 observe the Committee meets to-night, and if they could, arrange some function the total., amount raised for Christmas comforts fbi* the soldiers would probably be in the vicin'i-. t-y of £IOOO, which would be very useful for the object aimed at.The Committee are deserving of very, .great praise for their efforts and good work, and as daffodils are still in evidence, -with. teakiosks, raffles, produce stalls, procession, of Queen and Princesses, and other attractions, 'I am sure a still further large sum could be raised.
