Sick and Wounded Soldiers' Fund, who lias been attending- the monthly conference of Dominion Patriotic Relief .Societies at Wellington, returned to Nelson on Saturday. Mr J. Craigie, M.P. for Tima.ru, accompanied by Mrs Craigie, arrived in Nelson from the West Coast on Saturday, and left for Blenheim to-day. Air Craigie had been, invited to give lectures on Robert Burns _a,ts Hokitika and Reefton, and his visit 'was in that connection. Tie a warm tribute to the West Coasters' hospitality. Mr H. 0. Coombe, postmaster at Onelmnga. will retire on superannuation, early next year. He joined the Post Office, Auckland, as a cadet on March 3rd, 1876, and will have served that Department for over 42 years. Before taking xrp his present position, four years ago, Mr Coombe had been* for .some years chief clerk at both. Blenheim and Nelson.
